THE BOTTOM LINE UP FRONT
A significant realignment in global investment patterns is underway, with capital flows moving from China's economy, towards India, now viewed as a high-growth destination by major financial institutions. Concurrently, India is stepping up its geopolitical and military posture, notably in the maritime domain, to position itself as a counterbalance to China.
Despite significant economic reforms since 1991 fostering global integration and market openness, however, India still faces pressure from international partners to further reform its taxation, export controls, and intellectual property regimes. Investors should note that India's foreign engagement and trade policy will likely remain suppliant to domestic self-reliance and its strategic autonomy.
